What you’ll be doing:

  • As an Orchardist you will be exposed to and learn all day-to-day tasks that take place on an orchard to ensure that when the apples are harvested, they are at their best.
  • This role varies with the changing seasons and there is always a new challenge for you to take on and overcome.
  • Your day-to-day tasks will include but are not limited to:
  • Tree Management, direct work on trees including pruning, tree training and training.
  • General Orchard work including quality control, spraying, irrigation, and tractor driving.
  • Re-development of existing Orchard blocks.
  • Using technology and systems to guide your decision-making.
  • Supervision of Orchard teams (once you have gained the required experience).

Who you are:

  • Solid experience within horticulture or strong transferable experience.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and time management skills.
  • A future thinker – you are passionate about learning and owning change.
  • You are enthusiastic, reliable, and proactive.
  • You like to be busy, get your hands dirty and work outside.
  • You must have reliable means of transport to and from work.
  • You have the right to work in New Zealand and can pass pre-employment checks.
