Drive Global Film Delivery. Elevate The Cinema Experience. Join MPS as a DevOps Engineer where you will work closely with the IT team to ensure you are familiar with the wider infrastructure within the organisation, with your day‑to‑day work being focused on Newquay our 3rd generation key platform. You will ensure that both the on‑premises and Cloud based environments are kept up to date and fit for purpose for running Newquay. As part of the on‑call rotation for out of hours support you will be responsible for both being on call, but also keeping the wider team appraised of any changes to the Newquay environment. Working alongside the CTO and Software and Network Architects you will build, support, and maintain the AWS infrastructure.
What You’ll Do:
- Systems Administration
- Manage and monitor all Linux infrastructure associated with the Newquay platform.
- Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, applications software and systems management tools.
- Ensure all devices are appropriately configured and patched.
- Ensure all devices utilise managed builds via Puppet or alternative tools.
- Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.
- Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level support.
- Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution.
- DevOps
- Design, develop and maintain infrastructure in the cloud using infrastructure as code tools.
- Monitor the cloud environment to ensure optimal cost and performance metrics.
- Work with Software Development teams to build and maintain continuous integration and deployment processes.
- Own and maintain the EKS infrastructure.
- Operational Responsibilities
- Ensure the Newquay infrastructure is working and efficient.
- Ensure the on‑call team are aware of how to support and troubleshoot Newquay.
- Provide regular reports on programmes and projects within portfolio to the EMT and SMT.
- Ensuring the product owners are key in the decision‑making process.
What You’ll Bring:
- 5 or more years of professional experience of installing, configuring and troubleshooting Linux based environments.
- Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks (e.g., PHP 5 & 7, Apache, Python, NGINX).
- Experience of working across the full SDLC/STLC.
- Automation software (e.g., Puppet, cfengine, Chef).
- IaC (such as Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Experience with Digital cinema or VOD technologies and environments.

- Skills across multiple technologies but with particular emphasis on Linux.
- Solid scripting skills, including source control.
- Skilled in the implementation and management of virtualised environment with VMWare, Nutanix or AWS.
- Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP).
- Applicable knowledge of the technologies used by the teams (PHP, Python, C++, Node JS, Selenium, Spectron, Electron, SQL, API Integration).
- Docker, EKS, and AWS CI / CD Pipelines (preferably Gitlab).
