We seek a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join the Environmental Research Division and work on a 3-year NERC funded project to implement and test a newly developed process-based model of ocean heat uptake that will improve the accuracy of climate change projections by simple climate models.

Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will contribute to the development, implementation and testing of a process-based model of ocean heat uptake within a climate modeling framework.
  • Participate in project planning, data analysis and dissemination of results.

Qualifications

  • A recently completed PhD in Physical Oceanography or related discipline.
  • Experience with analysing oceanic observations and/or climate model simulations.
  • Strong numeracy skills and proficiency in a programming language such as Python/Matlab/Fortran.
  • Publication record commensurate with experience.
