- Job Purpose
To deliver safe, legal and high-quality food and packaging for all MPM products.
Ensure products and suppliers comply with local and relevant market regulations and comply with MPMs Quality Management System and overall company policy and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
This role deals with a wide variety of work tasks including, but not limited to the following:
Core Responsibilities
- Leading the Supplier Approval process in full from risk assessments to reviewing flows, to working with our global suppliers to meet quality & compliance standards.
- Onboarding new suppliers and rolling out the MPM QMS system to suppliers.
- Leading global physical and remote audits.
- Own all processes relating to MPM global supplier approval, in line with relevant standards and corporate values, embedding continuous improvement on all elements.
- Quality Management System
- Develop & manage a global general standard for all our suppliers that complies with MPMs standards and procedures
- Develop and execute an auditing schedule for all contract manufacturers against the general standard, ensuring they have relevant requirements to supply to MPM.
- Compliance
- Regular review of suppliers testing and control methods to comply with company standards and product image/design.
- Create and embed a Quality Control/QC test program for MPM.
- Create a reporting framework to feed information in to the wider team.
- Work closely with Quality & Compliance team member to ensure both are in spec.
- Work with the Quality Manager to maintain the VACCP and Horizon Scanning systems
- Consumer Complaints & NCRs
- Oversee non-conformance consumer complaints and non-conformances and ensure investigations are thoroughly carried out
- Create a framework for providing feedback on issue resolution for suppliers.
- Ensuring the team follow up of non-compliance with the relevant suppliers.
- Own annual mock product recall procedure and ensure the process is fully documented.
- Traceability processes and procedures align with MPM requirements
- Develop traceability procedures with the factory that are cohesive and well-functioning.
- Provide
- Provide regular communications to the Head of Technical so MPM are fully informed on progress of projects and key issues.
- Provide cross-functional training and coaching on relevant frameworks.
- Provide relevant parties with info. relating to QC issues and provide necessary documents or action to support resolution, including external communications.
- Lead supplier reviews to cover Food Safety & Quality areas.
This requires good working relationships across multiple departments and the ability to track actions through to completion.
- Deputy β Different areas will be mutually agreed to cover off in a deputy capacity as part of the teams development and ability to work agile as a team when other team members are off from work.
- Any other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility of this role.
- Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- At least 5 years working within a Quality function within FMCG
- Third Party Audit experience and qualification
- Experience at Supplier Approval processes
- Experience of building and/or managing a corporate Quality Management System
- Experience of working with global quality standards (BRCGS, HACCP etc.)
- Experience with Complaints and Non-Conformance close outs
- IT literate β including use of Excel (advanced user) & Word
- Effective relationship builder β internal and external stakeholders
- Team Player β Comfortable working both individually and as part of a team
- Attention to detail β a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Effective communicator β excellent communication skills are required as working collaboratively with suppliers, customers and stakeholders is a key part of this role
- Time management β uses time effectively to manage a busy workload with the ability to prioritize important tasks
