Job Purpose
The role will require the successful candidate to control the delivery of EPD, NPD and supporting business project activity within their remit to deliver on time, to scope and to agreed budgets.
Key Responsibilities
This role deals with a wide variety of tasks including, but not limited to the following:
Own:
- The day to day operational management of specified projects using MPM’s innovation and stage gate process, documents and tools.
- Facilitation to resolve project queries and conflicts, and escalation to the PMO Lead where required.
- Preparation of stage gate decks and alignment decks to the signed off schedule
- The publication and updating of critical paths, highlighting risks and resource issues to the PMO Lead to alleviate blockages ahead of time.
- The engagement of key stakeholders within a project to ensure their goals and the business’s goals are met.
- The updating of key documents in a timely manner such as the master lessons learnt logs, RAID log / toolkit, meeting slides, and the overall work plan and projects overview.
- The preparation of the business for launch of NPD and EPD.
- Proactive mapping of resource requirements for the NPD processes, highlighting constraints in advance.
- The review of NPD launches, highlighting learnings and opportunities for corrective rework or delist
- Overall costs for each project, ensuring team members provide appropriate input and work with Finance to ensure extraordinary costs are approved prior to spend.
- The review & closure of projects to ensure performance is measured and lessons identified
Support:
- The definition of a project’s mandate, scope and measures of success
- The PMO Lead in the delivery of the business stage gate process, highlighting opportunities for improvement where identified.
- The PMO Lead with overall resource planning for project management, including prioritisation of projects.
- Planning of EPD, NPD and business relevant projects, using a gate process appropriate to the size and type of project.
- The use of project management techniques and principles throughout the business.
- The communication of updated and changed processes to ensure project teams are working with the most updated tools.
- The flow of information from Stage Gate and NPD process to other teams within the business (e.g. Finance, Supply Chain and Technical), using existing tools & processes and recommending any improvements.
Shape:
- The alignment of stakeholders in advance of stage gate meetings if necessary
Provide:
- Key reports for use within the stage gate process including, but not limited to:
- NPD, EPD and other project plans
- Tracking of costs for each project
- Project updates either via the weekly meeting or other appropriate forums
- PCBs where needed for projects
- Guidance to the project team and act as a neutral point of escalation within projects.
- The PMO Lead with any critical escalations that may need alignment, adjustment of overall resource or additional cost sign-off.
Any other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility of this role.

- Understanding of product development processes from within the FMCG industry
