Production Operative – Fabrication Department

Our client based in New Milton is looking for a Production Operative to join their Fabrication Department with an immediate start available.

This is a hands‑on role, ideal for candidates with experience in fabrication, although full training will be provided for the right individual.

Responsibilities

  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Measuring, marking, and cutting materials to required dimensions.
  • Grinding, finishing, and polishing fabricated parts.
  • Inspecting completed work to ensure it meets quality and dimensional standards.
  • Using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.
  • Performing routine maintenance on fabrication equipment.
  • Following health, safety, and environmental procedures, including using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Recording production data and reporting defects or equipment issues.
  • Collaborating with engineers, supervisors, and other production staff to meet manufacturing schedules.

  • Previous experience in mechanical assembly, fabrication, paint shop, or production preferred.
