About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and versatile Production Operative to join a busy manufacturing team in Bridport.
This is a unique and varied production role that combines practical hands‑on manufacturing with the use of computers and software. The successful candidate will be given full training, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to develop a range of new skills and build a career within manufacturing.
You will learn to operate sewing machinery, assemble metal components and use computer-based systems, with a strong focus on producing work to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating sewing machinery following full training
- Assembling and working with metal components
- Using computers and relevant software as part of the production process
- Following production instructions and processes accurately
- Ensuring all work meets required quality and safety standards
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Working effectively as part of a team
- Developing knowledge and skills across different areas of the production process
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Practical, hands‑on and willing to learn
- Comfortable using computers, with some understanding of software - or highly motivated to learn
- Interested in developing new technical and manufacturing skills
- Able to work accurately and pay close attention to detail
- Reliable, motivated and hardworking
- Comfortable learning to operate machinery and work with different materials
- Committed to producing work to a high standard
- A good team player with a positive attitude
Previous manufacturing or sewing experience is not essential, as full training will be provided. More important is the right attitude, willingness to learn and enthusiasm for developing new skills.
