We're supporting a leading manufacturing business in the recruitment of a Project Engineer / PM to assist in the delivery of building and infrastructure projects within a live manufacturing environment.

Working alongside internal stakeholders, consultants and contractors, you'll help manage projects from design through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, to specification and on programme.

Previous experience within food manufacturing/FMCG or another regulated manufacturing environment is essential, along with a solid understanding of industrial building construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of building and construction projects from design through to completion.
  • Attend design meetings with architects, structural engineers and MEP consultants.
  • Review architectural and construction drawings, providing technical feedback where required.
  • Ensure designs comply with engineering, safety and quality standards.
  • Liaise with insurers and specialist asset protection consultants during the design phase.
  • Review tender documentation and assist with contractor selection.
  • Attend contractor site visits during tender and construction stages.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure works are completed in line with approved designs.
  • Participate in weekly construction progress meetings.
  • Report project progress, programme updates, risks and issues to the wider project team.
  • Coordinate effectively with contractors, consultants and internal stakeholders.
  • Support the successful handover of completed projects into an operational manufacturing facility.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience delivering industrial building or construction projects.
  • Previous experience within food manufacturing, FMCG or another regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Good knowledge of construction methods and materials, including foundations, structural steel, roofing, cladding, flooring and drainage.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical and construction drawings.
  • Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience working within live manufacturing or production environments.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and project documentation.

Desirable

  • Auto CAD experience.
  • Navisworks (3D model navigation).
  • Microsoft Project.
  • A construction, engineering or project management qualification.
