Are you a Physics graduate who loves being in the lab? The kind of person who doesn’t just run experiments — but wants to understand the why behind the results?

We’re a global advanced engineering company developing high-precision laser systems used in next-generation electronics and renewable energy manufacturing. Our technology supports cutting-edge semiconductor and photovoltaic applications worldwide.

We’re now looking for a Junior Laser Applications Development Engineer to join our Technology Development team.

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on, lab-based role designed for a recent graduate who is naturally curious, methodical and detail-driven.

You’ll work with short-pulse solid-state lasers and advanced optical systems, helping to:

  • Design and run structured experiments
  • Optimise laser-material interactions
  • Analyse results using microscopy and metrology tools
  • Translate physics theory into real-world engineering solutions
  • Develop robust, repeatable manufacturing processes

You’ll be mentored by experienced laser specialists, giving you exposure to real industrial projects from day one. There is also potential for occasional international travel as your experience grows.

What We’re Looking For

  • BSc / MPhys / MSc in Physics, Applied Physics or related discipline
  • Strong fundamentals in optics and material science
  • A genuine love of experimental lab work
  • A structured, scientific approach to problem-solving
  • Clear communication skills and eagerness to learn

Bonus (Not Essential)

  • Python, MATLAB or LabVIEW
  • Experience in academic or industrial laser labs
  • Exposure to electronics, semiconductors or renewable energy

Why Apply?

  • Work on real-world, high-impact industrial laser systems
  • Be mentored by domain experts
  • Develop rare, transferable skills in laser processing and automation
  • Gain exposure to global projects
  • Fast-track your technical growth in a specialist field

This is not a passive graduate role. It’s an opportunity to build deep technical expertise from the ground up.

If you're excited by precision engineering, advanced physics, and solving real manufacturing challenges — we’d love to hear from you.
