We are looking for two carpet fitters to fit carpet in 9 newly built flats, starting ASAP. Previous experience required with tools and transport.
Job Summary: We are seeking 2 skilled Carpet Fitters. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining carpets in a variety of settings, ensuring high standards of quality and safety. This role requires a practical individual with experience in construction-related tasks and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Duties:
- Measure and cut carpets accurately to fit designated areas using hand tools and power tools
- Prepare subfloors by cleaning, levelling, and applying necessary adhesives or underlays
- Install carpets securely using appropriate techniques, including stretching and fixing
- Repair or replace damaged sections of carpet as required
- Interpret schematics and technical drawings to ensure precise fitting
- Assist with related construction tasks such as carpentry or painting when necessary
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Use construction painting skills for finishing touches where applicable
Requirements:
- Proven experience in carpet fitting or related construction roles
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and carpentry techniques
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings
- Knowledge of construction painting is advantageous but not essential
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Good physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy materials and work in confined spaces
- Relevant construction experience including use of construction or hand tools is preferred
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
