We are looking for a Trainee Finance Assistant to join our Finance team. In this role you will be supporting the supply chain function within the finance team, ensuring financial records are up to date, and helping facilitate a smooth operation within the team, whilst maintaining financial communication and supporting the overall efficiency of supply chain.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Responsible for managing the supplier accounts and purchase ledger transactional processing in Sage.
  • Handling the processing of supply chain invoices which include storage, engineering, hire, repair and recovery.
  • Resolving any invoice queries by liaising with the operational teams and external parties.
  • Prepare and send out re-charge invoices to appropriate parties.
  • Update and maintain finance records within Omnia (internal claims system) while liaising with operational departments.
  • Perform reconciliations of supplier statements to ensure accuracy.
  • Analyse and recommend supplier payments for the monthly payment run.
  • Supporting month end processes within the finance team.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure smooth and accurate finance processes whilst also working closely with the claims team and clients.
  • Inbox Management.

What We’re Looking For

  • Excel and Sage experience would be advantageous but not necessary. (Training can be provided)
  • Previous finance experience not required.
  • Strong team player with the ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Demonstrates initiative and takes ownership of tasks and responsibilities.
  • Proactive, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Able to manage time effectively, prioritise workloads, and meet deadlines.
  • Confident communication within a professional environment with internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Due to the nature of this role, it will be office based. Full Time, Monday-Friday. Flexibility to adjust working hours around month-end and year-end processing if required.
