MPJ Recruitment are proud to be supporting an established legal firm based in Orpington, who are currently searching for a Small Claims Litigation Paralegal to work on behalf of leading insurance companies.
The business has been established for over 10 years, and they invest heavily in training and supporting their staff. They are a small business, employing roughly 50 staff at the moment but they are expanding rapidly throughout 2025, heading into 2026. Responsibilities
We are seeking a proactive and detail-driven Small Claims Litigation Paralegal to join our clients team in Orpington. In this role, you will manage a portfolio of small track RTA claims, working on behalf of leading insurance companies. You\\\’ll handle each case from pre-litigation through to settlement, ensuring high standards of accuracy, efficiency, and client care throughout the process.
- Manage and progress a portfolio of small claims RTA cases from pre-litigation through to settlement.
- Obtain and review evidence to support liability and quantum.
- Handle all correspondence within service level agreements, keeping clients and relevant parties regularly updated.
- Draft and issue legal proceedings when settlement is not achieved pre-issue.
- Prepare court documents, witness statements, and instructions for Counsel/Barristers.
- Comply with all court directions, deadlines, and procedural rules.
- Allocate and process settlement funds promptly upon case resolution.
- Maintain accurate and organised case records using the case management system.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development as required.
About You
- Prior knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) relating to RTA/Motor Insurance Claims is desirable, but full training will be provided.
- Highly motivated and organised, with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills – confident liaising with clients, insurers, brokers, solicitors, Counsel, and the Courts.
- Able to manage workload effectively and work calmly under pressure.
- Comfortable working independently while contributing to a team-oriented environment.
