Bookkeeper - Hybrid - Bury (Holcombe Brook)

MPJ Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a rapidly growing and forward-thinking accountancy practice in North Manchester as they expand their bookkeeping team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, detail-driven Bookkeeper who enjoys autonomy, variety, and building strong client relationships.

You'll manage your own portfolio of medium-sized business clients across the Northwest, ensuring their bookkeeping and management accounting needs are delivered to a high standard. Although the role is fast-paced, you'll receive a full handover and client-specific training to help you settle in quickly.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing purchase and sales ledgers

• Raising and entering invoices in Sage or Xero

• Processing sales and purchase orders

• Completing bank reconciliations

• Preparing and submitting VAT returns

• Ensuring compliance with strict HMRC deadlines

• Working with multiple currencies, bank accounts, departments, and CIS (beneficial)

• Producing accounts to trial balance (beneficial)

• General day-to-day accounts and office duties, including maintaining accurate records and timely data entry

Skills & Experience Required

• AAT qualified

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar bookkeeping role

• Strong communication skills

• Confident working both in the office and off-site at client premises

• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
