MPJ Recruitment are proud to be working with a rapidly growing legal practice based in Manchester City Centre, currently looking to expand their team with a driven and ambitious Paralegal. The Opportunity
You'll join a busy and collaborative legal team specialising in litigation work, with exposure to a varied caseload. This role is ideal for someone who already has some experience and is eager to take the next step - handling files with supervision while continuing to develop professionally. Full training and ongoing support are provided, but you'll also be trusted to take ownership and grow your expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and draft correspondence, reports, and documents
- Assist with case management, ensuring files are accurate and up to date
- Communicate with clients, providing updates and managing expectations
- Prepare and file court documents (applications, statements, bundles, etc.)
- Support with administrative tasks, including diary management and scheduling
- Liaise with courts, counsel, and external parties to progress matters
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and confidentiality standards
- Record time accurately and assist with billing processes
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 1 year's experience in a paralegal or litigation-based role
- Law degree (preferred)
- LPC, SQE, or CILEx qualification (or working towards)
- Understanding of general litigation processes
- Confident communicator with a strong telephone manner
- Experience using a case management system (e.g. Proclaim or similar)
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal systems
- Ideally experienced working Housing Disrepair cases
- Motivated, proactive, and a strong team player
