The Role

As a Costs Draftsperson, you’ll play a key role in maximising costs recovery and supporting fee earners across the business. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting Bills of Costs, Points of Dispute, and Replies
  • Preparing both fixed costs and multi‑track bills
  • Negotiating settlements with opponents and insurers
  • Assisting with detailed assessment proceedings
  • Advising fee earners on costs strategy and recovery
  • Managing deadlines and ensuring compliance with CPR requirements

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience in a legal costs role
  • Strong knowledge of CPR and costs procedures
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage a varied workload independently
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Experience in personal injury or civil litigation (desirable)
