Looking for greater opportunities to grow and advance your career? We’re looking for a skilled Commercial Underwriter to help shape the future of our branch. In this key role, you\’ll be responsible for managing the profitability of accounts and broker relationships, with direct influence over financial performance. You’ll play a pivotal part in strengthening underwriting excellence and driving collaboration across the team. What You’ll Be Doing * Take the lead in evolving how we partner with our broker portfolio through dynamic, flexible, and collaborative approaches. * Leverage a strong mix of technical and commercial skills to make informed decisions, backed by data and cutting-edge mobile technology. * Drive profitable growth in key markets by focusing on new business opportunities. * Help shape the branch’s trading and technical capabilities by fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration. What You’ll Bring * A proactive mindset with a passion for learning and challenging conventional thinking. * Strong customer and market awareness, with the ability to apply insights to your daily work. * The ability to collaborate effectively, take accountability, and innovate in problem-solving. * Demonstrated technical expertise in Property & Casualty (P&C) Commercial underwriting. * In-depth knowledge of insurance processes and market dynamics within P&C Commercial lines. * Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. * Proven decision-making ability across a wide range of technical underwriting scenarios. * Coaching or mentoring experience within a team-based environment, with a track record of achieving results. * Commercial acumen with excellent negotiation and broker relationship management skills. * Strong analytical and numerical reasoning skills, with experience in account monitoring and risk assessment. * Progress toward Dip CII qualification (or equivalent experience) is desirable. * A forward-thinking attitude with the resilience to lead and support change initiatives.
