Job Description

Mains Water Engineer\\n\\nLocation: Edinburgh & surrounding areas\\n\\nSalary: £30,000 to £40,000 (DOE)\\n\\nHours of work: Monday to Friday – (One weekend per month required – paid accordingly)\\n\\nMPJ Recruitment are proud to be working with one of the industry's leaders in the provision of drainage and water leak detection services to the insurance industry. It's a fantastic time to join our client, they have been established for over 40 years, use the latest in cutting edge technology and are always looking to new ways to develop their services.\\n\\nWater Mains Engineer Role:\\n\\nThis is a customer-facing role where you'll be responsible for independently investigating and repairing external water supply issues, using a combination of technical knowledge, practical experience, and a safety-first customer focused mindset.\\n\\nResponsibilities:\\n\\nIndependently investigating and repairing external water supplies to domestic and commercial properties.\\nAccurately identifying leak locations and determining ownership and liability for repair works.\\nProficiency in using hand and power tools for excavation, pipefitting, and other tasks.\\nProviding clear, reassuring communication to customers, explaining the work required and the process.\\nMaintaining consistent and proactive communication with our Field Operations Team at HQ.Required Experience and Skills:\\n\\nLeak detection techniques, including use of listening sticks, ground microphones, or other acoustic equipment.\\nExperience with find & fix water supply repairs.\\nFamiliarity with trenchless pipe installation (moling) – desirable but not essential.\\nAbility to create new points of entry for water supplies into buildings.\\nSkilled in using a CAT scanner to identify underground service pipes and cables.\\nProficiency in reinstating surfaces to a high standard, including paving slabs, block paving, cold lay tarmac, and concrete.Benefits:\\n\\nAttractive salary and benefits package.\\nRegular training delivered via their internal academy.\\nCareer progression.All applicants will need to complete a DBS Check and Credit Check.\\n\\nCLICK APPLY if you are interested in finding out more
