About the Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Claims Auditor to join a growing Claims and Quality Assurance function. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in insurance claims, quality assurance, compliance, auditing or risk who enjoys analysing processes, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring high standards are consistently maintained. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting internal and external audits, reviewing claims files, identifying risks and control weaknesses, and working closely with operational teams and senior stakeholders to drive improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct internal audits across claims handling and operational departments.
- Review claims files to ensure they are handled accurately, fairly and in accordance with company procedures, client requirements and relevant regulations.
- Assess compliance with company policies, procedures and internal control frameworks.
- Conduct external audits of suppliers where required.
- Identify risks, control weaknesses, process inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement.
- Produce clear and detailed audit reports, including findings, recommendations and required actions.
- Monitor agreed actions and follow up with relevant stakeholders to ensure improvements are implemented.
- Analyse audit findings to identify recurring trends and systemic issues.
- Work closely with operational managers and senior stakeholders to improve processes, controls and claims quality.
- Support the ongoing development and improvement of internal audit frameworks and methodologies.
- Assist with management information and reporting for senior leadership and clients.
- Maintain accurate records of audits, findings and corrective actions.
- Provide guidance and constructive feedback to claims teams around compliance, best practice and process improvements.
- Support the business in maintaining high standards of customer service, claims quality and regulatory compliance.
About You
We are looking for someone with previous experience within insurance, claims, auditing, compliance, risk or quality assurance, ideally with a strong understanding of claims handling. You will be:
- Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident identifying errors, inconsistencies, risks and areas for improvement.
- Experienced in interpreting policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- An excellent written communicator with the ability to produce clear and concise reports.
- Comfortable presenting audit findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple audits and competing priorities.
- Proactive and solutions-focused, with a genuine interest in improving processes and controls.
- Comfortable working within a regulated environment.
