The Role
As a First Notification Motor Claims Handler, you'll be the first point of contact for customers following a road traffic accident. You'll provide reassurance, gather key information, explain the claims process and ensure every customer receives an outstanding experience from the very first call. You'll work closely with internal teams to make sure each claim progresses efficiently while identifying opportunities to maximise customer outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle inbound First Notification of Loss (FNOL) calls from customers involved in road traffic accidents.
- Gather accurate information relating to the incident and record all claim details.
- Assess liability and identify the most appropriate next steps.
- Explain the claims process clearly and professionally.
- Arrange services such as vehicle recovery, repairs, replacement vehicles and other accident management solutions where appropriate.
- Keep customers updated throughout the early stages of their claim.
- Deliver excellent customer service while achieving individual performance and commission targets.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys helping people and has the confidence to manage customers during what can often be a stressful situation. You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience within FNOL, claims, insurance or accident management.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- A calm, empathetic and professional telephone manner.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- A positive attitude with a desire to maximise earnings through performance.
