Child Care Solicitor to join their highly regarded team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a solicitor who is passionate about Child Care law and wants to make a real difference to clients' lives.
You will manage a rewarding and varied caseload of publicly funded matters, while working alongside experienced legal professionals in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload of publicly funded Child Care matters from instruction through to conclusion.
- Advise and represent clients in care proceedings, adoption matters and Special Guardianship Order applications.
- Provide clear, practical and compassionate legal advice to legally aided clients.
- Undertake advocacy where appropriate and confidently represent clients at court hearings.
- Prepare high-quality legal documents, court applications and correspondence.
- Maintain accurate, compliant and well‑organised case files in line with regulatory requirements.
- Build strong, professional relationships with clients, colleagues and external professionals.
- Contribute to the continued growth and success of the Child Care department.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have
- Qualified Solicitor status in England & Wales.
- A minimum of
2 years' PQE within Child Care or Family Law.
- Experience managing your own caseload of publicly funded Child Care matters.
- Strong advocacy skills and confidence representing clients in court.
- Excellent communication, organisation and client care skills.
- A compassionate and client‑focused approach.
- The ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a supportive team.
Desirable
- Children Law Accreditation.
- Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior team members.
- Experience working towards departmental performance targets.
