The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced
Quality, Environment, Health & Safety (QEHS) Manager to lead and develop the company's quality, environmental, health and safety strategy.
Reporting directly to the Operations Director, you'll take ownership of the organisation's QEHS management systems, ensuring compliance with legislation, driving continuous improvement and embedding a positive safety culture throughout the business.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the company's Health & Safety Management System in line with ISO 45001.
- Manage the Environmental Management System aligned to ISO 14001.
- Support and continuously improve the Quality Management System (ISO 9001).
- Ensure compliance with all relevant UK health & safety, environmental and regulatory legislation.
- Conduct audits, inspections and risk assessments across operational sites.
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Oversee statutory inspections, certifications and compliance records.
- Maintain operational, environmental and compliance risk registers.
- Support business continuity and incident response planning.
- Develop and deliver QEHS training programmes alongside the Learning & Development team.
- Produce compliance reports and performance updates for senior leadership.
- Build strong relationships with operational teams, contractors, customers and regulatory bodies.
- Drive continuous improvement across quality, safety, sustainability and compliance.
Essential Experience
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).
- Relevant environmental qualification (such as IEMA Practitioner or equivalent).
- Degree (or equivalent) in Engineering, Environmental Science or a related discipline.
- Proven QEHS management experience within utilities, energy, engineering or infrastructure.
- Experience managing ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and environmental compliance.
- Experience managing audits, inspections and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.
- Strong analytical and risk assessment abilities.
- Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel.
Desirable
- Lead Auditor qualifications (ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or ISO 45001).
- Membership of IOSH, IEMA or a similar professional body.
- Experience within heat networks or district heating.
- Knowledge of the Ofgem regulatory environment.
- Experience working with public sector clients or within regulated industries.
- Understanding of GDPR and data protection requirements.
