Rolling Stock ETCS OBU (Freight) role available! MPI is looking for a Quality Engineer to start ASAP on a Long Term contract. The role will be primarily based in Derby but will require travel to other sites. Rate Negotiable – to be discussed on application. Inside Scope of IR35.

Responsibilities:

  • Asset inspections to support handover and hand-back.
  • In-process quality inspections.
  • Final locomotive snagging and First Article Inspections.
  • Production of reports covering asset inspections, FAI’s and improvement opportunities identified.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum level 3 apprenticeship in a recognised trade e.g. Mechanical, electrical.
  • Experience in a Quality/Inspection role.
  • Proven experience in Rail Vehicles retrofit/modification projects.
  • Experience in project mobilisation and implementing new or existing procedures and processes.
  • HNC qualification in a relevant trade (desirable).
  • Experience and/or qualifications in auditing (desirable).
