MPI have a requirement for an Apprentice Assessor to be based on site at RAF Benson, Oxfordshire. These roles are ongoing, working 37 hours per week for 44.4 weeks per year. Rate of pay: Umbrella £45.13 or Paye £33.00 roles deemed in-scope of IR35.
Role information:
The Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship Flight (AEAF) delivers technical apprenticeships to Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (TG1) and Survival Equipment Technicians (TG13) in the RAF. This role is to support the Royal Air Force apprenticeship provision for level 3 Aeronautical Engineering Apprentices (TG1 & TG13) located at RAF Benson, following graduation from RAF Cosford, phase 2 training. The successful candidates will be responsible to Officer Commanding AEAF for the regular review, assessment, management, and welfare of RAF TG1 & 13 Level 3 aeronautical engineering apprentices up to the completion of their apprenticeship.
Job Description: (Main duties and responsibilities)
- Planning and administration of 3 monthly progress reviews to establish learner progression against the completion of their apprenticeship, review previous targets, set new targets, record and monitor Off the Job Training, ensuring that statutory training requirements are met.
- Monitor for any welfare, safeguarding or PREVENT concerns and reporting as necessary.
- The assessment and cross mapping of evidence for the work-based qualifications.
- Assisting apprentices in preparing for their apprenticeship assessment (including EPA where appropriate), helping them understand the assessment criteria, reviewing draft submissions and providing feedback.
- Establishing and maintaining a good level of understanding of the component parts of the Apprenticeship Framework and Standards relevant to TG1 & TG13 Apprentices.
- Ensuring all paper and electronic documents and records are updated, reviewed, stored, and kept secure as necessary.
- Assisting with support functions, such as assurance activities, feasibility studies and the development and review of apprenticeship standards, orders, and processes.
- Maintaining annual Continual Professional Development (CPD) for the role.
- Acting as a focal point for apprenticeship enquiries.
- The post holder may be required to receive training related to their specialization at RAF Cosford, civilian training agencies and at MOB training establishments for the platform(s) their apprenticeship learners are employed on.
- Ancillary duties include assisting in the planning, preparation, and facilitation of apprenticeship assessment workshops.
Criteria
Essential:- The successful candidate will be required to undertake Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Clearance.
- Thorough understanding of the current TG1 and TG13 Apprenticeship Standards, the associated apprenticeship assessment, and the mandatory qualifications associated with those standards.
- Hold A1, TAQA Level 3 or equivalent assessor qualifications.
- Strong organizational, management, leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Good IT and keyboard skills.
- Hold a full UK driving license and may be required to obtain and maintain an FMT 600.
- Instructor/Trainer qualification and experience e.g. DTTT, CertEd.
- Educated to Level 3 such as Ordinary National Certificate, BTEC, SCOTVEC, NVQ/SVQ in an Aviation engineering subject, plus have practical experience in their engineering specialism.
