Aircraft Technicians – Merlin Helicopter Experience

MPI has a requirement for Aircraft Technicians, ideally with Merlin Helicopter experience, but will consider other rotary aircraft experience.

These roles are based at RNAS Culdrose, Helston TR12 7RH.

The rate of pay is available upon request.

Full-time, Permanent positions with 38 hours per week, working a day routine.

About the Role

Our client has exciting opportunities for Aircraft Technicians (Merlin) to join the Royal Navy Air Station (RNAS) Culdrose. They support the IMOS (Integrated Merlin Operational Support) and AESES (Air Engineering and Aviation Support) contracts, delivering aircraft repair, maintenance, and support services. Culdrose is one of the Navy\’s principal air bases and among the busiest military airfields in the UK.

You will support aircraft engineering services across both contracts, ensuring operational deliverables and compliance in a highly regulated environment. As an aircraft engineering fitter, you will complete contracted tasks following customer policies and regulations, including the Health and Safety at Work (HASAW) Act 1974, and address customer complaints, quality issues, and business risks with team leads. Administration duties and ongoing training to develop your skills are also part of the role.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair tasks on Merlin or other rotary aircrafts
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
• Support operational and contractual deliverables
• Complete administrative duties related to aircraft maintenance
• Participate in training and professional development activities

Requirements

• Approximately 3 years of experience in an airworthiness environment, with relevant experience on Merlin or other rotary aircraft
• Experience with Merlin aircraft systems and servicing equipment
• Understanding of Lean Operating Procedures
• Knowledge of Naval Air Publications and CIETP
• Commitment to Health and Safety, COSHH, Tool Control, and Quality Practices
• Familiarity with engineering and asset management systems
• Completed a Maintenance Human Factors course
