MPI have a requirement for a full time permanent Stores Person to be located in Warwickshire. Working as part of a team, reporting to the Stores manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day tasks related to managing inventory, receiving and storing aircraft parts and materials, and ensuring accurate record-keeping of stock levels. They will also assist in organising and maintaining the storage areas and coordinating with other departments for inventory needs.
Key role and responsibilities:
- Goods in: Process goods into the company. Ensuring and maintaining accurate records. Compliance with COSHH regulations, maintaining accurate labelling, storage and use. Assist with purchasing of consumable items. Follow stores procedures on maintaining compliant storage areas.
- Goods out: Coordinate logistics for receiving and dispatching goods. Work with transport providers and internal teams to ensure timely movement of stock. Work with Import and Export Executive to ensure accurate and compliant export documentation.
- Material handling: Process parts from the workshop into storage areas. Maintaining workshop/storage area standards. Provide workshop technicians and shopfloor staff with parts/consumables when required.
- Assist Stores and Purchasing Manager with weekly tasks by carrying out the following: Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports related to stores. Prepare and analyse stock hold forecasting reports to ensure optimal inventory levels. Conduct regular audits of stores to verify stock accuracy and process adherence. Raise and manage purchase orders based on stock forecasts and project requirements. Liaise with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery and follow up on outstanding orders. Assist with stores compliance by carrying out various weekly checks.
- Other responsibilities where relevant: Tool control - To be responsible for tool control in a Part 145 environment, which involves ensuring that all tools and equipment are properly controlled, calibrated, and maintained according to recognized standards to guarantee their serviceability and accuracy. Training on this will be available if candidate has no experience. Customs, imports and export - Assist the Import and Export Executive with customs procedures and admin when workload increases or to assist when holidays/sickness occurs. This involves but is not limited to: ensuring regulatory compliance, handling customs declarations and compiling data and recording each import & export entry with accuracy. Training on this will be available if candidate has no experience.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a stores or inventory management role.
- Strong knowledge of inventory and warehouse systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
- Working knowledge of COSHH regulations and health & safety standards.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
- ERP or warehouse management system experience is desirable.
- Forklift license preferred.
- Familiarity with customs documentation and international shipping practices.
- Understand the basics of Customs & Import/Export Compliance.
