MPI are looking for a PTS Electrician based in Sheffield / Stoke.
Location: Sheffield/ Stoke
Job Type: Full-Time / Contract / Night Shifts Available
Salary: 37 p/h days, 39 p/h Nights (Inside IR35)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused PTS Trained Electrician to join our rail and infrastructure team. The successful candidate will carry out electrical installation, maintenance, testing, and fault-finding work within rail environments while complying with Network Rail standards and site safety procedures. Please note this is contract work so the shifts are varied, both long term and short term.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out electrical installation, maintenance, and repair works on rail infrastructure projects.
- Perform testing, inspection, and fault diagnosis on electrical systems.
- Work safely within rail possessions and live railway environments.
- Ensure all works are completed in line with Network Rail standards and health & safety regulations.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings and technical specifications.
- Complete documentation, reports, and permits accurately.
- Liaise with supervisors, site managers, and other trades on-site.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good condition.
Essential Requirements
- Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification.
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- ECS/JIB Gold Card.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.
- Experience working in rail, infrastructure, or industrial environments.
- Strong understanding of electrical testing and fault-finding.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends when required.
Desirable Qualifications
- IPAF certification.
- PASMA certification.
- C&G 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification.
- Experience with Network Rail projects.
- SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
