Overview
The team manages the full lifecycle of I.T Assets (hardware, software, peripherals) from procurement to disposal, ensuring value, operational efficiency, and compliance. The team is financially accountable for all I.T asset spend across News.
Our client has over 20,000 I.T assets and licenses ranging from laptops, desktops, monitors, desk phones, mobile phones, tablets, and SIM cards. In addition to ensuring that all users have the correct kit and software to do their best work, these assets must be accounted for and set up to be charged to the correct cost codes.
When people join or leave, it is important to keep track of where their assets have gone to or returned to be reused by new joiners. Our client has a responsibility to safeguard I.T assets and ensure they are not mishandled. The ITAM team works through over 400 cost centres tracking and tracing assets to ensure they are assigned and charged correctly.
Role Responsibility
The role is responsible for the lifecycle management of IT assets and the operation of key controls in your designated business unit. You will be the escalation point for user’s IT problems and issues that cannot be solved through the standard process. You will ensure compliance with stakeholder policy and ensure that exceptions receive the appropriate level of authorisation.
- To be accountable for auditing, managing, and tracking assets, including the setup of new hardware/software.
- To be responsible for communicating IT strategy and policy within your business unit.
- To work with senior stakeholders in forecasting the IT technology needs of your business unit.
- To be the approver for IT spend in your business unit.
- To manage \’self-service\’ solutions including laptop loan lockers and I.T vending unit.
