*REMOTE WORKING*

MPI are looking for a Sales Manager with a railway background on a permanent full-time contract. This is a permanent homeworker position. The applicant must have Sales and Sales Engineering experience, i.e. a technical background within Rail.

Must be able and willing to work in various and sometimes challenging environments. The candidate must be adaptable and open-minded, able to engage with diverse teams constructively and should face new challenges as a learning and growth opportunity, always seeking positive outcomes.

Core responsibilities:

  • Develop sales and marketing of service packages and spare parts in the UK.
  • Work within the team to formulate, drive, and manage the development and execution of the rail and marine Sales Strategy.
  • Review and prepare quotations, tenders, and commercial enquiries to secure sustainable growth in sales.
  • Provide technical support to new and existing customers.
  • Prepare and participate in Voith product presentations to customers and at exhibitions.
  • Review and report on market requirements and development.
  • Excellent knowledge of the UK rail industry.
  • Excellent understanding of mechanical rail components; electrical systems knowledge would also be an advantage.
  • Good experience of key account management and/or business development.
  • Proven personal organizational skills and project/bid planning skills.
  • Developed client contacts in the rail industry.
  • Able to create a healthy pipeline and deliver sales orders.
  • Able to prepare commercial offers with the support of the organization, engineering, procurement, etc.
  • Good grasp of commercial and contract negotiation.
  • Able to work independently and contribute to team goals.

Professional Experience & Education:

  • Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent such as HNC.
  • Proven experience of a proactive approach to produce new business opportunities.
  • 5 years of experience in Sales in the UK rail sector is essential. Marine industry experience would be beneficial.
  • Strong contacts in the UK rail industry.
  • Able to produce Sales KPIs.
  • Good presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under own initiative.
