The Senior Guidewire DBA will play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations, enabling smooth upgrades and migrations, and ensuring adherence to governance, security, and change management standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide database administration support for Guidewire applications (Policy Centre, Claim Centre) on Oracle.
  • Support Guidewire SaaS migration activities, including data readiness, validation, cutover support, and post-migration stabilisation.
  • Perform database monitoring, performance tuning, capacity planning, and issue resolution.
  • Manage backup, recovery, and disaster-recovery processes.
  • Support environment refreshes, upgrades, patches, and release activities.
  • Ensure compliance with security, audit, and regulatory controls.
  • Maintain and update DBA documentation, runbooks, and knowledge-transfer artefacts.
  • Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.

Skills

  • Total 10+ years of DBA experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a DBA supporting Guidewire applications.
  • Advanced Oracle Database administration (installation, configuration, tuning, backup/recovery).
  • Experience supporting Guidewire cloud / SaaS migration or large-scale platform migrations.
  • Knowledge of data migration, data validation, and reconciliation practices.
  • Experience with high availability, failover, and disaster-recovery setups.
  • Exposure to automation and scripting (e.g., Shell, SQL, Python).
  • Familiarity with monitoring and performance tools relevant to Oracle and Guidewire.

Education

Any Bachelor’s degree preferred in the field of Information Technology.
