A senior technology leader for Mphasis across the European insurance portfolio (P&C, Specialty, Brokerage, Lloyd’s).
You act as the trusted advisor to CTOs and Chief Architects, driving modernization, cloud, AI/Gen AI, data, and security strategy.
The role requires strong transatlantic fluency to align UK/EU clients with US buying centres while running the Account Technology Office (ATO) and partnering with the NA Insurance CTO to present one unified technology leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Advisory & Trusted Advisor Relationships
Lead technology strategy for P&C, Specialty, Lloyd’s syndicates, managing agents, and brokers across Europe.
Build deep knowledge of core systems, specialty platforms, brokerage stacks, and Lloyd’s infrastructure (PPL, DCOM, Crystal).
Advise on modernization (Guidewire, Duck Creek, Sapiens, SSP, Sequel, Xuber), cloud, AI/Gen AI, analytics, cybersecurity, and regulatory change.
Engage with CTO, CIO, Chief Architect, CISO, and CDO communities.
Navigate French regulatory expectations (ACPR) and cultural dynamics.
Represent Mphasis at architecture forums and Lloyd’s Market councils.
2. Transatlantic Client Coverage
Shape engagement models for UK‑headquartered clients with leadership in North America.
Ensure architecture consistency and unified commercial narrative with NA Insurance CTO.
Align solutions to UK/EU and US regulatory regimes (FCA/PRA, ACPR, Solvency II, NAIC, SEC).
Support joint pursuits and maintain visibility of technology investment decisions across UK, Ireland, and NA.
Establish and run the ATO: governance, operating rhythm, stakeholder model, and decision frameworks.
Drive architecture reviews, standards, delivery health checks, and roadmap alignment.
Maintain client‑specific technology roadmaps and produce executive briefings.
Use the ATO to align architects, client teams, and account leadership around shared transformation goals.
4. Architecture Leadership & Delivery Governance
Provide end‑to‑end architecture leadership across P&C platforms, specialty systems, brokerage platforms, cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), data & analytics, AI/ML, and enterprise platforms (IBM, Oracle, Service Now, Salesforce).
Enforce architecture standards and guardrails.
Identify technical debt and risks early.
Partner with CISOs on security architecture and threat modeling.
Champion Mphasis AI Platform and FDE adoption.
5. AI/ML, Data Science & Advanced Analytics
Define AI/ML strategy for underwriting automation, claims intelligence, fraud detection, pricing, specialty risk modeling, and distribution analytics.
Lead Gen AI use cases for Lloyd’s submissions, broker copilots, regulatory automation, and customer personalization.
Govern data architecture (lakehouse, MDM, lineage) and ensure compliance with GDPR, FCA rules, and French sovereignty requirements.
Deploy Mphasis AI accelerators and co‑develop client AI roadmaps.
Anchor engagements to measurable outcomes: combined ratio improvement, claims efficiency, distribution cost reduction, regulatory compliance, and customer retention.
Map Mphasis platforms/products to European client needs.
Customize capabilities for Lloyd’s workflows, ACPR reporting, and FCA resilience.
Ensure each workstream has a clear value hypothesis and measurement plan, tracked through the ATO.
7. Commercial Growth & Deal Shaping
Partner with account leadership to identify growth opportunities and shape new SOWs.
Lead technology strategy in pursuits, providing architecture credibility and business case leadership.
Translate Lloyd’s reform, FCA expectations, and French digital trends into solution opportunities.
Support transatlantic pursuits and expand relationships across operations, risk, and compliance.
8. Delivery Architect Coordination
Provide technical direction to delivery architects via dotted‑line oversight.
Build an architecture community of practice.
Ensure alignment with ATO standards and client principles.
Provide input on architect performance and capability gaps.
- Required Qualifications
- 15+ years in technology leadership, architecture, or consulting, with significant European P&C/Specialty/Brokerage experience.
- Deep domain expertise across underwriting, claims, policy admin, reinsurance, Lloyd’s operations, and brokerage tech.
- Strong knowledge of Lloyd’s ecosystem (PPL, DCOM, Crystal, Blueprint Two, TOM).
- Familiarity with French carriers (AXA, Generali, Allianz France, MAIF, Covéa) and ACPR expectations.
- Hands‑on experience with core platforms (Guidewire, Duck Creek, Sapiens, SSP, Sequel, Xuber).
- Proven track record shaping and winning large ($5M+) transformation deals.
- Strong commercial instinct and ability to build executive business cases.
- AI/ML and data science fluency; experience with MLOps and Gen AI in financial services.
- Knowledge of enterprise platforms (IBM, Oracle, Service Now, Salesforce).
- Fluency in European regulatory frameworks (FCA, PRA, ACPR, Solvency II, DORA, GDPR, NIS2, IFRS 17).
- Ability to build C‑level relationships across multiple clients.
- Transatlantic operating experience.
- Excellent English communication; French proficiency preferred.
