Account CTO in Glasgow

The Account CTO partners closely with the client organization to translate business and technology challenges into scalable solution architectures. The role is responsible for understanding the client's application landscape, technology standards, and domain requirements, and shaping end‐to‐end solution designs in collaboration with senior stakeholders and delivery teams.

Key responsibilities include:

• Defining technology strategy, creating solution roadmaps, establishing architecture standards, and driving innovation aligned to client priorities.
• Strong expertise across Cloud, Containers, AI/ML/GenAI, APIs, Security (IAM), and modern data and platform technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake, and SaaS ecosystems.
• Deep hands‐on capability in Java, Spring, Kafka, Python, REST, and Web API design.
• Leading technical direction across the account, guiding onsite/offshore teams, evaluating emerging technologies, and delivering PoCs to validate approaches.
• Strong communication, architectural leadership, and experience delivering medium‐ to large‐scale enterprise systems with a high level of technical rigor and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

• Strong understanding of Cloud, Containers, Cognitive technologies (AI/ML/GenAI), APIs, and application architectures (server‐side and client‐side), as well as user, functional, and technical requirements.
• Ability to provide technology solutions, roadmaps, architectures, patterns, designs, and specifications.
• Collaborate with the account delivery organization to drive innovation and adopt technology trends aligned with the client's direction.
• Hands‐on development experience across AWS/Azure/GCP, Java, Kafka, REST/JSON, Spring, data platforms, and API platforms.
• Capable of architecting enterprise‐wide systems, including integrations with third‐party applications and SaaS platforms.
• Able to lead, and inspire other technical teams within the account.
• Strong understanding of API‐first design principles and Test‐Driven Development.
• Actively explore new tools, technologies, and industry techniques.
• Hands‐on experience with rapid prototyping and Proof‐of‐Concept (PoC) development.
• Able to provide guidance and technical leadership to onsite and offshore teams.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science.
• 15+ years of experience in professional software development.
• 5+ years of experience in a technical leadership role such as Enterprise Architect or Solution Architect.
• Strong knowledge of Cloud, Containers, and Cloud‐Native platforms such as Kubernetes.
• Proficient in Java, Spring, and API Gateway development frameworks.
• Experience with large enterprise‐wide implementations as an Architect.
• Strong experience working with user, functional, and system requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams through all phases of major projects.
• Ability to effectively collaborate with product managers and other organizational units such as QA and Operations.
• Strong understanding of server‐side software, scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Proven capability and track record in leading cutting‐edge projects, with strong knowledge of emerging technology trends and communication protocols.
• Skilled in capturing and tracking functional and technical requirements across organizations and business units.
• Proven interpersonal and negotiation skills.
• Ability to relate to people and communicate effectively under stressful circumstances.
