Mpeople Recruitment are excited to be recruiting for a Transport & Fleet Coordinator to join a well-established and growing business in Rochdale.

Location: Rochdale (OL16)

Salary: £27,000–£30,000 + Overtime

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm + Saturday rota (1 in 2 or 1 in 3, 9am–12pm, paid overtime)

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in vehicle rental, vehicle hire, transport coordination, logistics, driver scheduling, route planning or fleet administration, looking to progress into a fast‑paced operational role.

Our client operates within the accident management and vehicle hire sector, supporting customers nationwide following non‑fault road traffic accidents. You will play a key role in ensuring customers receive the right hire vehicle quickly and efficiently, while coordinating drivers, vehicles and logistics.

We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked in roles such as Vehicle Rental Coordinator, Hire Desk Controller, Fleet Administrator, Transport Coordinator, Transport Planner, Logistics Coordinator, Driver Scheduler or Operations Coordinator. Experience within vehicle rental or hire would be advantageous, but is not essential. Candidates with a strong background in scheduling drivers, planning routes, coordinating transport movements or managing logistics operations are also encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and allocate hire vehicles based on customer requirements and location
  • Schedule and coordinate drivers, vehicle movements and routes
  • Manage the full rental process, including bookings, documentation and compliance
  • Verify customer details via phone and email
  • Process rental agreements, damage checks and vehicle records
  • Plan and support driver routes and vehicle logistics
  • Liaise with depots, drivers and internal teams to ensure smooth operations
  • Deliver excellent customer service throughout the hire process
  • Arrange vehicle maintenance, repairs and servicing when required
  • Maintain accurate data and records using internal systems
  • Respond to changes and last‑minute requirements, ensuring transport schedules run efficiently
  • Support upselling of additional services where appropriate

About You

Our client is open to considering candidates from a broader range of backgrounds, so previous vehicle rental experience is not essential.

You may have experience within:

  • Vehicle rental or car hire
  • Transport coordination or planning
  • Logistics and distribution
  • Driver scheduling or route planning
  • Fleet administration or fleet coordination
  • Delivery/collection scheduling
  • Hire equipment coordination
  • General operations coordination

You will ideally have:

  • Experience coordinating people, vehicles, schedules, routes or logistics
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • The ability to manage changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • A confident and proactive approach to problem‑solving
  • The ability to communicate effectively with drivers, customers and internal teams
