Mpeople Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Print and Cutting Workflow Manager to join a busy production environment.

This is a hands-on and active role overseeing the day-to-day workflow across print and cutting operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating workloads, managing a team of up to 12 people and ensuring production priorities are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Previous printing experience is ideally required, together with strong Excel skills and the ability to work confidently in a fast-paced and reactive production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate a team of up to 12 employees across the print and cutting areas.
• Plan and coordinate daily workloads to ensure production priorities are achieved.
• Maintain and coordinate the 24-hour production plan.
• Provide the Night Manager with clear updates on production requirements, priorities and any issues.
• Manage overtime requirements across the print and cutting areas.
• Work closely with the production team to ensure workloads are delivered efficiently and on schedule.
• Use complex Excel worksheets to support production planning, workload management and reporting.
• Identify opportunities to reduce machine setup times and improve operational efficiency.
• Identify training requirements and coordinate staff training and development.
• Monitor operational issues and take prompt, practical action to resolve them.
• Identify the root causes of rework and implement improvements to reduce errors and waste.
• Maintain high standards of quality throughout the production process.
• Ensure the work area remains safe, clean and well organised.
• Ensure company policies, procedures and health and safety requirements are consistently followed.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and provide clear handovers between shifts.

About You

The successful candidate will be a confident and approachable people manager who enjoys being involved in the day-to-day running of a production operation.

You will be comfortable working in a hands-on, active role, spending time on the production floor and working directly with the team rather than being primarily desk-based.

You will need to remain calm and organised when dealing with changing priorities and a reactive working environment, while ensuring production targets, quality and safety standards are maintained.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Previous printing experience is highly desirable.
• Experience managing or coordinating a team of up to 12 people.
• Strong Excel skills, with the ability to work confidently with complex spreadsheets and production data.
• Strong planning and coordination skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A natural ability to engage with and motivate a production team.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, reactive production environment.
• Ability to remain calm and make effective decisions under pressure.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a practical approach to improving processes.
• Good understanding of quality, health and safety and workplace housekeeping.
