Mpeople Recruitment are seeking an experienced Quality Manager on behalf of our reputable manufacturing client based in Wigan.

  • Location: Wigan
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week. Permanent Monday to Friday usual hours are 8.30am to 5pm
  • Salary: up to £60,000 dependent on experience
  • EAP: in place once passed probationary period.
  • Pension: minimum of 2% contribution from the employee, and the company contributes 6% - making a total pension contribution of 8% per annum, once passed probationary period.
  • On site: free parking.
  • Bonus: Discretionary bonus.

The Quality Control Manager (QC Manager) is instrumental in overseeing the quality assurance processes within an organisation. They are tasked with developing quality testing protocols, conducting audits, and ensuring that all products or services meet specific regulatory and company standards. A QC Manager not only identifies and resolves quality issues but also works proactively to establish preventive measures. Their goal is to ensure optimal product quality, enhancing customer satisfaction and minimizing waste and production costs.

Duties:

  • Develop and implement quality control processes and procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of production processes.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve quality-related issues.

  • Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.

The desired candidate would have the following experience, skills and attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, MBA, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
  • Certification from professional bodies like Chartered Quality Institute (CQI).
  • Experience with quality management systems (QMS) such as ISO 9001.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality control software.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in quality control or quality assurance.
  • In-depth understanding of quality control procedures and legal standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Proven experience in managing quality assurance projects.
  • Familiarity with statistical methods and data analysis.
