About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Payroll Administrator to join our growing accountancy practice. You will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely payroll services to a portfolio of clients across various industries.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with prior experience in a practice environment who is looking for part-time, flexible working hours within a supportive and professional team.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for a portfolio of clients
- Input and manage payroll data, including starters, leavers, holiday pay, and statutory payments (SSP, SMP, etc.)
- Submit Real Time Information (RTI) to HMRC
- Prepare and distribute payslips, P45s, and P60s
- Calculate and notify clients of PAYE and NIC liabilities
- Manage auto-enrolment duties including pension submissions and assessments
- Handle and submit CIS returns as required
- Respond to payroll queries from clients by email or phone in a timely and professional manner
- Liaise with HMRC and pension providers
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance
- Assist with general office administration as needed
Key Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a practice environment minimum of 2 years
- Sound knowledge of payroll legislation, tax codes, and pension auto-enrolment
- Experience using cloud and digital payroll systems
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with CIS processes (desirable)
