Salary: £16,224 – £20,280 per annum, depending on experience

Hours: 20–25 hours per week, over 3–4 days (flexible)

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Payroll Administrator to join our growing accountancy practice. You will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely payroll services to a portfolio of clients across various industries.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with prior experience in a practice environment who is looking for part-time, flexible working hours within a supportive and professional team.

Key Responsibilities

Process weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payrolls for a portfolio of clients

Input and manage payroll data, including starters, leavers, holiday pay, and statutory payments (SSP, SMP, etc.)

Submit Real Time Information (RTI) to HMRC

Prepare and distribute payslips, P45s, and P60s

Calculate and notify clients of PAYE and NIC liabilities

Manage auto-enrolment duties including pension submissions and assessments

Handle and submit CIS returns as required

Respond to payroll queries from clients by email or phone in a timely and professional manner

Liaise with HMRC and pension providers

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance

Assist with general office administration as needed

Key Skills & Experience

Previous experience in a practice environment minimum of 2 years

Sound knowledge of payroll legislation, tax codes, and pension auto-enrolment

Experience using cloud and digital payroll systems

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook

Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines

Familiarity with CIS processes (desirable)
