Overview
Our client is seeking a dedicated Hotel Night Porter to join their team in Oldham. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth operation of our hotel during the night shift, providing exceptional guest services and maintaining a safe, welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a friendly demeanour, and previous experience within the hospitality industry. Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist guests arriving during the night shift, ensuring a warm and professional first impression
- Locking up the hotel and opening the hotel
- Manage guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently while adhering to hotel procedures
- Respond promptly to guest enquiries via phone or in person, providing accurate information and assistance
- Maintain security protocols by monitoring hotel premises and reporting any suspicious activity
- Handle guest requests such as wake-up calls, room service orders, or additional amenities with courtesy and efficiency
- Ensure the cleanliness and organisation of the reception area throughout the shift
- Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to address any issues promptly
- Setting up function rooms for next day meetings and events
- Document incidents or irregularities during the night shift accurately for reporting purposes
- Answering the phone throughout the shift
- Complete laundry and ironing to a high standard
- Set up meeting rooms and event spaces for the following day
Skills
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly advantageous for effective communication with international guests
- Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills to provide exceptional guest service
