Permanent Full-Time Bookkeeper / Payroll Administrator – Bolton We are currently recruiting for an experienced Bookkeeper / Payroll Administrator to join a well-established accountancy practice based in Bolton. About the Role This is a full-time, permanent position working 34.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based fully on-site. You’ll be part of a small, friendly team of 9 supporting a varied client base. Hours include a 4:30pm finish on Fridays, offering a great work-life balance. What We’re Looking For We’re looking for an experienced and reliable individual who has worked within an accountancy practice, with hands-on experience in both bookkeeping and payroll. Key Skills & Experience: Previous experience working within practice environment Experience using payroll software Strong organisational, communication, and IT skills Ability to meet deadlines and manage workload effectively Proficiency with cloud-based accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) Knowledge of VAT Proficient in Microsoft Office Willingness to take on a variety of administrative tasks Key Responsibilities: Processing payroll for a portfolio of clients Submitting Real Time Information (RTI) to HMRC Processing and submitting CIS returns Informing clients of PAYE liabilities Completing year-end payroll tasks Advising clients on pension auto-enrolment requirements Processing pension submissions General bookkeeping duties using digital/cloud systems Preparing draft VAT returns (depending on experience) Handling client queries via email, phone, and face-to-face Liaising with HMRC and other organisations Assisting with general office duties including filing, shredding, answering phones, and greeting visitors What’s in It for You?
