Hours: 20 β 25 hours per week β 3 β 4 days
Overview:
We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Bookkeeper to join our busy accountancy practice. This role is ideal for someone with previous experience working in practice, confident in handling multiple client accounts and able to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate financial records for a variety of clients
Process sales and purchase invoices
Perform regular bank reconciliations
Manage accounts payable and receivable
Prepare and submit VAT returns
Post journals including accruals, prepayments and payroll
Support with credit control tasks
Liaise with clients to obtain records and resolve queries
Use cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage
Assist with preparation for year-end accounts and management reports
Requirements:
Previous experience working in practice β minimum 2 yearsβ experience
Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles
Confident using accounting software (Xero, Sage, QuickBooks etc.)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good communication and client-facing skills
Ability to manage time and prioritise tasks effectively
Desirable:
AAT qualified or working towards (not essential)
Experience with VAT in various sectors
