Mpeople Recruitment are seeking an experienced Labourer / FLT Driver (Reach Licence and Driving Licence Required) on behalf of our reputable manufacturing client based in Swinton.
Location: Swinton
Hours: 08:00 – 16:30, Monday to Friday – with some flexibility and OT available
Salary: Up to £15.00 per hour, depending on experience
Start Date: ASAP (within the next two weeks)
Purpose of the role and duties:
- The main objective of this role is to support the day-to-day operations of the yard and warehouse by carrying out general labouring duties, operating a Reach FLT safely and efficiently, and ensuring the site is maintained to a high standard at all times.
- High level of accuracy with all labouring and warehouse operations required.
- General sweeping, tidying and housekeeping across the warehouse and yard.
- Emptying bins and ensuring waste is disposed of safely and correctly.
- Keeping the yard clean, organised and free from hazards.
- Loading and unloading deliveries in a safe, controlled and efficient manner.
- Operating a Reach FLT safely and competently.
- Assisting with putting stock away into the correct storage locations.
- Moving materials around the warehouse and yard as required.
- Assisting production and warehouse teams with general manual handling duties.
- Ensuring materials and products are stored safely to prevent damage.
- Supporting stock movement and general warehouse organisation.
- Carrying out basic checks to ensure work areas remain clean and safe.
- Reporting any Health & Safety hazards to the Manager.
- The above is a non-exhaustive list of duties, and you are expected to undertake any other duties as reasonably requested by your Manager.
- Perform any other tasks and duties as required by management.
Experience and skills:
- Driving Licence is required.
- Valid Reach FLT Licence is essential.
- Experience within a busy warehouse, manufacturing or yard environment is essential.
- Good awareness of Health & Safety procedures.
- Ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
- Reliable, hardworking and self-motivated.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual labouring duties.
- Flexible approach with a willingness to support different areas of the business.
- Good communication skills.
