Mpeople Recruitment are seeking an experienced Quality & Compliance Manager on behalf of our reputable manufacturing client based in Chadderton.

  • Location: Chadderton, Oldham
  • Hours: flexible working hours earliest start 7:45am and latest finish 5:15pm (for example: 7:45 – 4pm or 8:30am - 5:15pm)
  • Salary: Up to £60,000 dependent on experience

Purpose of the role: Reporting to the QHSE Manager, the Quality Manager will have overall responsibility for the quality standards of the business. Critical to the role is the need to drive the continual improvement of the quality and efficiency of the processes, products and systems for the Company.

Responsibilities would include:

  • Manage a team of Quality Inspectors.
  • Manage the complaints/quality concern process, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with relevant departments in line with the relevant defined process.
  • Support the internal audit schedule by conducting regular internal audits to assess and ensure compliance with standards EN9100, EN9120 and ISO14001 and identify areas for improvement and implement actions.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers on customer requirements to ensure compliance within the Production environment.
  • Perform specification reviews to ensure our products align with the specified requirements.
  • Liaise with suppliers on quality and conformance of supplied materials and services.
  • Manage the calibration process.
  • Analyse production processes/data to identify opportunities for optimisation and efficiency improvements while maintaining product quality.
  • Develop inspection and risk management methods to analyse product quality in line with customer requirements such as MSA, FMEA, CPK.
  • Provide analytical reports for management (including KPI management); highlight key findings and propose recommendations that are proportionate to the risk.
  • Safeguard and promote the integrity of the QMS to ensure compliance to all applicable standards.
  • Develop and deliver training to staff on internal quality processes, standards, and best practices.
  • Conduct the administrative duties in support of the role including maintaining the internal document register.
  • Ensure the protection of Company Intellectual Property and Customer Confidentiality.
  • Perform any other tasks and duties as required by management.

The desired candidate would have the following experience, skills and attributes:

  • Proven ability of leading a Quality function within a regulated/manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to manage, coach and guide team members and other colleagues to deliver to the Company quality standards.
  • Experience of line management and developing employees.
  • Experience of promoting the Company quality standards within the working environment through various means (including delivering regular Quality briefings) to motivate, educate and encourage compliance at all times.
  • Ability to make decisions quickly, prioritise workload effectively and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Ability to demonstrate a strong commercial understanding when making decisions for the Company.
  • Previous quality assurance experience and demonstrated use of quality tools/methodology, including problem-solving methodologies (preferably in an Aerospace environment).
  • PPAP experience desired.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems and standards EN9100, EN9120 and ISO14001.
  • Experience in conducting internal and external quality audits to verify compliance with ISO standards and regulations.
  • Proficient in creating and maintaining accurate quality documentation, reports, and records to facilitate traceability and continuous improvement.
