Mpeople Recruitment are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper on behalf of a Law firm based in Central Rochdale. This is a full-time, Permanent position, and would be 100% office based.
My client already has an established accounts team that look after their sister company who are within the insurance industry, however are now looking to expand the team to have someone looking after the day-to-day bookkeeping of the Law firm. These duties will take 2-3 days of the week, and the rest of the week would be spent assisting the business’ sister company with Purchase Ledger and ad hoc accounts duties.
Details:
- Salary: £27,000 - £32,000 dependent on experience
- Working hours: 9:00 – 17:30, Monday to Friday (some flexibility on these hours)
- Location: Rochdale (OL16)
Responsibilities and duties will include but not be limited to:
- Income and expenditure / normal ledger
- Purchase Ledger – reconciling supplier ledgers, arranging client & supplier payments, and addressing queries with the fee earners
- Sales Ledger
- Month end tasks
To be considered for this role, you will:
- Experience: Have a minimum of 2 years experience in a varied accounts position, covering all aspects of accountancy and bookkeeping including income and expenditure / nominal ledger
- Accounting experience in a solicitors/law firm would be advantageous due to the rules and regulations surrounding the Solicitor’s Regulation Authority on how accounts need to be done, so an understanding of this would be a massive bonus.
- Systems: Confident Microsoft Excel user. Sage 50 would be desirable but is not essential. Experience using Proclaim Accounts would also be a massive bonus
- Qualifications: AAT Level 3 is preferred, and any other accounting qualifications would be a bonus
- Skills / Qualities: Detail orientated, proactive and can manage own workload, able to maintain accuracy within a fast-paced role, good communication skills (written and verbal), and a good team player
