MPB is at an exciting and consequential stage of its growth journey. We are seeking a visionary VP of Finance to lead and continuously evolve our Finance function within a high-growth, international re-commerce business. Operating as a strategic partner to the CFO and the wider VP leadership group, you will act as a proactive enabler of business growth and long-term value creation. This is a "platform-builder" role; you aren’t just supporting where MPB is today, but continue to build the financial infrastructure and institutional knowledge that will define what we become over the next five years.
What You Will Be Doing
- Strategic Partnership & Execution: Serve as the Finance & Legal representative within the VP leadership group, translating Exec-level strategy into cross-functional execution.
- Internal Finance Engine: Own our "internal finance engine," leading the preparation of investor and board reporting packs with a focus on accuracy, clarity, and commercial narrative.
- Growth & Transaction Readiness: Support our CFO on fundraising and M&A activity, providing the analytical rigour and diligence-ready infrastructure that a transaction-stage business demands.
- Process Excellence: Drive the adoption of automation and AI across finance processes to sharpen insights and improve commercial outcomes.
- Global Finance Operations: Oversee day-to-day operations including reporting, accounts payable, payroll, and tax compliance across all jurisdictions.
- Capital Optimisation: Maximise cash efficiency through effective working capital management and forward-looking liquidity monitoring to support our three-year plan.
- Team Leadership: Lead and develop a high-performing team of 14 across management reporting, finance operations, and finance projects, focusing on career development and succession planning.
- Deputise for CFO: While broader organisational decisions are made in close partnership with the CFO, you will carry meaningful decision-making authority within the Finance function if/when our CFO is not available, to ensure continuity of leadership and strategic momentum.
What We Are Looking For
- Qualified Professional: You are ACA or ACCA qualified with demonstrable experience in a multi-entity, multi-currency group (ideally with US or German subsidiaries).
- Strategic Presence: You possess the personal authority and communication skills to represent Finance and Legal at the most senior levels of the organization.
- Systems Expertise: Hands-on experience with major ERPs (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, or equivalent) and advanced Excel skills.
- AI-First Mindset: You don’t just experiment with technology; you have a default way of working that applies emerging tech to improve finance operations.
- Change Management: A proven track record of operating at a significant inflection point, such as international expansion or exit readiness.
- People-First Leader: A well-rounded leader with the emotional intelligence to inspire and retain a team in a fast-moving environment.
- Analytical Rigour: Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance high-level strategic thinking with granular operational detail.
Our values:
- Better, Connected: We work collaboratively and embrace diversity.
- Empowering and Empowered: We celebrate ownership and initiative.
- Insight-driven: We act based upon data and reflection.
- Agents of Change: We innovate and promote sustainability.
- Focussed on Excellence: We aim high, and work smart.
- Passionately Ambitious: We encourage creativity and strive to improve through innovation.
