This role owns the technical and analytical backbone of MPB's organic search programme across UK, US and European markets. This role is the team's primary authority on technical SEO, organic data infrastructure, and organic performance analysis ensuring search quality, crawl health, and measurement rigour are maintained at scale, while operating as a trusted deputy to the Head of Organic Growth.

What you will be doing:

  • Own the technical SEO programme end-to-end: crawl architecture, indexation strategy, Core Web Vitals, structured data, and site health monitoring across all MPB markets.
  • Lead the P&E relationship for organic search: write technically precise tickets, own requirements through sprint delivery, and validate implementations against expected search outcomes.
  • Build and maintain the team's measurement infrastructure (GSC, GA4, rank tracking) and ensure reporting accurately reflects organic performance across markets and segments.
  • Conduct deep-dive technical audits and translate findings into prioritised, developer-ready briefs with clear business impact rationale.
  • Monitor algorithm updates, crawl behaviour changes, and Core Web Vitals shifts; assess impact on MPB and brief the team proactively with recommended responses.
  • Lead analysis of competitor technical strategies and GEO optimisation signals, forming and defending original points of view.
  • Act as deputy to the Head of Organic Growth: run team standups, sprint rituals, and cross-functional conversations in their absence with full operational ownership.

What we are looking for:

Essential:

  • Proven SEO experience with a demonstrably technical focus, ideally working on e-commerce properties.
  • Expert-level technical SEO knowledge: crawl budget management, canonicalisation, hreflang, structured data etc.
  • Strong command of analytics tooling: GA4, GSC and at least one rank-tracking platform.
  • Able to diagnose complex technical issues and communicate root cause and remediation clearly to both developers and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Genuine intellectual curiosity about AI-driven search, GEO, and the evolving intent landscape, able to form and defend views, not just track trends.
  • Proactive communicator: surfaces bad news and anomalies as readily as wins.

Desirable:

  • Experience working across multiple European markets or with localisation/hreflang at scale.
  • Exposure to agile/sprint-based workflows.
  • Experience running SEO A/B tests or CRO experiments in collaboration with product or conversion teams.
  • Experience with Python, SQL, or other tools for SEO automation or data analysis.

Benefits:

  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays.
  • 1 wellbeing day off per year.
  • 5% employer contributory pension scheme.
  • Private healthcare.
  • Access to EAP with a range of employee discounts.
  • Buzzing social calendar.
  • Dog friendly workplace.
  • Bespoke Learning Management System - the MPB 'Learning Lab' with access thousands of free courses to upskill in any areas you'd like; whether personally or professionally.
  • 2 volunteer days per year for charity which aligns with MPB values, and of your choosing.
