The Opportunity

We\’re looking for a Field Service Engineer who\’s passionate about problem solving, supporting customers, and keeping high performance automation systems running at their best.

In this hands on role, you\’ll deliver worldclass service through:

  • Planned preventative maintenance
  • Onsite troubleshooting and repairs

You\’ll be a key technical partner to our customers, ensuring they get the very best out of their equipment-wherever they are in the world.

What You\’ll Do

Technical Support & Maintenance

  • Act as a firstline technical expert, always presenting yourself with professionalism and positivity.
  • Carry out diagnostics, repairs and complex maintenance tasks across electrical, mechanical and mechatronic systems.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and propose proactive solutions to enhance machine performance.

Customer Excellence

  • Deliver highquality technical training and advice onsite.
  • Maintain detailed service reports and update internal teams on progress and issues.
  • Support customers remotely via phone, email or online tools.
  • Promote aftersales services and highlight areas for future support.

Safety & Compliance

  • Work safely, following all Health & Safety regulations and best practices.
  • Use correct PPE and contribute to creating a safe, riskcontrolled environment.
  • Apply sound understanding of PUWER, COSHH, safe isolation (LOTO) and other key safety standards.

Travel

  • Travel worldwide to support customers (valid UK passport and full driving licence required).
  • Manage your own workload effectively, prioritising tasks in a fastmoving environment.

What You Bring

Knowledge & Experience

  • Strong technical maintenance background within an automation, machinery or precision engineering environment.
  • Proven experience faultfinding in mechanical, electrical and automation systems.
  • Hands-on experience with three phase/single phase/DC systems.
  • Understanding of PLCs, servo control, pneumatics and industrial electrical components.
  • Comfortable working across cultures and building strong customer relationships.
  • IT-literate with experience in desktop/client support environments.

Technical Qualifications

  • Recognised apprenticeship in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • BTEC/ONC/City & Guilds/HNC (desirable) or equivalent engineering qualifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
  • Strong mechatronics skillset and aptitude for automation technology.
  • Ability to analyse problems and develop effective engineering solutions.
