In this role, you will have a hybrid role where your duties will be split across an Auditor and Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer.

As an

Auditor , you will play a pivotal part in enhancing MPAAS’ safety and quality assurance standards by actively supporting field meter installers through auditing and coaching initiatives.

Assigned a specific geographical area, you will conduct both Work‑in‑progress and post‑completion audits—executed through on‑site evaluations and desktop reviews— ensuring strict adherence to company policies and industry regulations.

This position also offers the flexibility of remote engagement, allowing you to provide ongoing support to our operatives via Stepback, thereby fostering continuous improvement and excellence in operational practices.

As a

Dual Fuel Engineer , you will be required to travel around a specified area, delivering an exceptional customer service experience to our client’s customers who you will engage with daily.

You will be technically competent, able to safely install various types of smart meters whilst advising customers on the benefits of smart meters in a clear and coherent manner.

We are looking for the best engineers who are ideally experienced in mentoring new starters on the best practice technical‑excellence standards following their initial induction.

You'll be proactive, and always keen to find new and efficient ways to make your role safer and more efficient.

  • Your overarching key duties as an Auditor
  • Complete a range of Work‑in‑progress, Post Completion & DTQA Audits.

Support operatives remotely, through Technical Helpdesk function providing technical assistance & abort codes.

  • Complete site investigations where issues have presented themselves and complete associated reports.
  • Update relevant business departments of issues identified and required rectifications during audits.
  • Assist with on‑site re‑training of operatives following stand down periods.

Work with operatives where issues (both technical and non‑technical) have been identified to help understand performance issues whilst maintaining all safety requirements.

  • Update company systems in line with completed works. Vehicle, equipment and behavioural checks to ensure all operatives are conforming to requirements.
  • Your overarching key duties as a Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer
  • Installation and maintenance of Smart Meters into customers homes of various energy providers.
  • Provide first class customer service at all times along with energy efficiency advice.
  • Undertaking commercial and residential warrants as and when required.
  • Other related duties as required by the metering department.
  • Interaction and liaison with the delivery support team.
  • Although you will be mainly working on your own, we still want people to be team players and help out other engineers where needed.
  • Maintain our high safety standards and follow working procedures.
  • Control and manage stock.
  • What we are ideally looking for in you
  • Minimum of CMA1 and MET1.
  • Single Phase metering competency (3 phase ideally)
  • 3 years + experience as a Dual Fuel Smart Meter Engineer.
  • CT metering experience.
  • CCN1 & Appliances with additional skills of MET 4, REGT1, TCPC1/1A, ICPN1
  • Previous experience using Safety Culture, IAuditor.
  • Any experience working in a similar Auditing/Coaching role would be beneficial.
  • Other personal attributes that we would like you to have
  • Self‑Motivated; Able to travel – This role will consist of a substantial amount of travel.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to coach engineers and provide feedback.
  • Salary & Benefits
  • Attendance Bonus: £300 per month (Pro rata for when you are working as a DF Engineer)
  • Health & Safety Bonus: £500 per quarter (Pro rata for when you are working as a DF Engineer)
  • Meter Fit Bonus: Depending on the contract you working on you will earn bonus for the days you are working as a DF Engineer.
  • Annual Leave: 23 days + bank holidays (Rising to 25)
