MPA Healthcare is currently recruiting Adult Day Care Support Workers on behalf of our clients across the Derry/Londonderry area. This is a rewarding opportunity to support adults with learning, physical, and sensory disabilities within centre-based day services. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will help individuals develop their skills, maximise their independence, and participate in meaningful activities that enhance their quality of life. With regular daytime hours from 9:00am to 3:00pm, Monday to Friday, this role offers an excellent work-life balance while allowing you to make a positive impact every day.
The Role
As a Day Care Support Worker, you will provide person-centred support tailored to the individual needs of service users. You will assist with daily living activities, encourage participation in programmes and activities, and support individuals in achieving their personal goals within a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality support to adults with learning, physical, and sensory disabilities.
- Assist with personal and intimate care needs, including support with eating and drinking where required.
- Support service users to participate in activities designed to promote independence, confidence, and wellbeing.
- Assist with the assessment, planning, implementation, and review of individual and group support programmes.
- Monitor and record service user progress accurately and effectively.
- Support individuals using flexible transport services throughout the day where required.
- Promote dignity, choice, inclusion, and independence at all times.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality support.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant legislation, organisational policies, and best practice guidelines.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum of 6 months' recent paid experience in a similar health and social care setting.
- Current NISCC registration.
- Willingness to undergo an Enhanced Access NI Disclosure check.
