About the Role
MPA Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Primary Care Administration Officer (Band 5) on behalf of our public sector client in Belfast.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator, business support professional or office manager to join a busy Primary Care team and provide high-quality support to senior management.
The role offers variety, responsibility and the opportunity to work across administration, staff management, projects, reporting and Primary Care services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and secretarial support to the Director of Primary Care and senior management.
- Manage administrative staff, workloads, rotas and team performance.
- Organise meetings, workshops and regional events, including preparing papers, agendas and presentations.
- Take minutes and manage follow‑up actions.
- Support Primary Care projects, contracts and service improvement initiatives.
- Collate and analyse information and produce reports and management information.
- Maintain databases, records and filing systems.
- Support financial administration, payment claims and accurate record keeping.
- Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
What We’re Looking for?
Essential Criteria
Applicants must have one of the following
- A University Degree or equivalent professional qualification AND at least 1 year’s administrative experience, including 6 months’ recent experience in an office management or business support role.
- OR
- At least 4 years’ administrative experience, including 6 months’ recent experience in an office management or business support role.
Candidates must also have
- Experience of managing staff.
- Experience using computer software packages within an office environment.
- Good knowledge of IM&T issues.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A current full driving licence valid for use in the UK and access to a car.
Desirable
- Previous experience within Health & Social Care or the public sector.
- Experience supporting senior management.
- Experience with databases, reporting or performance information.
- Experience in project or service improvement work.
