Job Description
MPA are currently recruiting Permanent Support Workers for our client Apex Housing, in the Derry/ Londonderry Area. This role will be based at Ballyoan House.
This is a Full-time role (36 hours per week) to include weekends.
The salary for all Support Workers positions is £25,992 per annum. (£13.47 per hour) Night shifts also get a £15 night allowance in addition to the hourly rate.

Job Duties:
- Assist in the development, implementation and review of support and care plans taking account of the views of the tenants, their families and significant others
- Assist tenants to participate in agreed programmes of support to achieve maximum independence.
- Provide support and assistance to tenant (via the key worker scheme) in order to maintain personal care needs
- Conduct Health and Safety Audits as required
- Administer a range of medications within tenant protocol and within current Apex policy and document this accurately
- Write accurate and timely reports as required
- Comply to all health and safety policies including accident/incident reporting and reporting all additional concerns
- To ensure all services are delivered in accordance with recognised standards including RQIA and Apex policies and procedures
- To promote the self-esteem, happiness and emotional health of service users
- Undertake and successfully complete induction Programme and competency assessment within probationary period
- Participate in an Oncall for leadership rota
- Take charge of shift and delegate workloads to other staff (when applicable)
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with the multidisciplinary team, tennants, visitors, colleagues, relatives, other departments and all levels of management
- Implement the outcomes of risk assessments on daily duties performed
- These key responsibilities are not an exhaustive list of duties, only a general guide to the post. In consultation with Apex Housing Association and the manager, the duties may change from time to time to enhance the service.
Essential Criteria
- QCF/NVQ 2 Health and Social Care or equivalent AND
- A minimum of 6 months’ experience in a formal care support role with learning difficulties/mental health difficulties
- Must be currently registered with NISCC OR if new to the sector must achieve registration within 6 months.
- Have previous administration experiences
OR
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a formal care/ support role working with adults with learning difficulties or mental health issues
- Have previous administration experience
- Must be currently registered with NISCC OR if new to the sector must achieve registration within 6 months.
- Must be willing to work toward the completion of relevant qualification
AND
Above experience must demonstrate the use of IT and the provision of admin support to include regulatory, scheme and resident reports
