MPA are currently recruiting Permanent Residential Workers with complex needs for our client Apex Housing, in the Derry/ Londonderry Area. This role will be based at Belmont Cottages.

This is a Full-time role (36 hours per week) to include weekends.

There is also a permanent part time role available (24 hours per week)

The salary for all Care Assistant positions is £25,992 per annum. (£13.47 per hour)

This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a permanent Residential Worker contract with a market leading healthcare provider in a supportive, patient centred care environment

Job Duties:

  • To effectively manage the varying needs within 4 different cottages
  • To provide care that is resident focused whilst ensuring that residents’ dignity and privacy are maintained at all times.
  • To respect and promote the rights and entitlements of people with learning difficulties and complex needs and be responsive to individual needs of the service users
  • Conduct Heath and Safety Audits as required
  • To be able to effectively manage a large frequency of incidents involving adults who display complex needs
  • To ensure appropriate documentation is established and maintained in respect of new residents and continuous evaluation of residents’ support plans
  • Comply to all health and safety policies including accident/incident reporting and reporting all additional concerns
  • To ensure all services are delivered in accordance with recognised standards including RQIA and Apex policies and procedures
  • To promote the self-esteem, happiness and emotional health of service users
  • To accompany service users on social and recreational outings and other appointments, as required.
  • Carry our house visits with manager as required
  • Attend fundraising committee meetings
  • Establish and maintain good working relationships with the multidisciplinary team, residents, visitors, colleagues, relatives, other departments and all levels of management
  • As a shift leader you will have direct responsibility for analysing staffing levels, coordinating workloads and delegating as appropriate
  • Managing the staff within the scheme and liaising with the manager to identify and establish work targets and development objectives

Essential Criteria

  • QCF/NVQ 2 Health and Social Care or equivalent
  • A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a support working role with learning difficulties AND Challenging behaviour in a community/residential setting
  • Must be currently registered with NISCC OR if new to the sector must achieve registration within 6 months.
  • Have previous administration experiences

OR

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a support role working with adults with learning difficulties AND challenging behaviour in a community/residential setting
  • Have previous administration experience
  • Must be currently registered with NISCC OR if new to the sector must achieve registration within 6 months.

AND

The above experience must include supervisory responsibility

Above experience must demonstrate the use of IT and the provision of admin support to include regulatory, scheme and resident reports
